Ossory Youth opened its doors on Wednesday night to launch a listening service for young people whose parents are separating or have divorced.

Called “Teen Between,” the service aims to give a safe space specifically for young people aged 12-25 years to come and talk about their experiences and issues that can occur when a partnership dissolves.

Instigated by Relationships Ireland, it responded to a need for an impartial ear for young people whose parents were receiving counselling, who all too often feel stuck in the middle, confused, frustrated and not heard. The service is confidential and free of charge, but donations are welcome.

For more information about the service or how to make an appointment, contact Jane at Ossory Youth, Desart Hall, New Street, Kilkenny; 056 7761200; or jfurey@ossoryyouth.com.
