TEA PARTY- Plans are all sorted for the upcoming American Tea Party set to take place this Friday evening in Glenmore hall. The Glenmore GAA juvenile committee are holding this fundraising function with hostesses attending to tables of ten and is starts at 9pm. There will be great raffle prizes and music on the night will be a disco.

GOLF SOCIETY- The Glen Bar golf society had their most recent outing last Saturday to Dungarvan golf club, Co.Waterford and all enjoyed the golf and the sun. The overall winner was Liam Mernagh who also won nearest to the pin, the other winners were John Heffernan, Seamus Phelan and Mickie’Foxy’ Phelan. Well done to all the winners.The society’s next outing, which is also their last outing for this year is to Mount Juliett on September 22 with a tee time at 11am. The society has proved to be a great success since its beginnings and offers members the opportunity to play on the wonderful and beautiful golf courses across the region.

ARTS WEEK - The Kilkenny Arts week is currently underway with many events and exhibitions being free. Local artist, Maeve Doherty of Ballinlammy is holding an exhibition in Butler House and you can visit her there to see her watercolours, silk work and pastelle work.

NEW BABY- Congratulations to Paul and Ann Marie Harney of Rochestown on the birth of their third son, Jack, a brother for Michael and Seamus.

SYMPATHY - On the recent passing of Peg Malone of Ballyshane, Inistioge, sympathy is extended to her sister Bridie Aylward, and family of Ballyfacey.

HERITAGE WEEK - National Heritage Week takes place from August 18 to August 26th and Kilkenny has a programme of events as part of it. SILVER CIRCLE- The July draw of the Glenmore GAA silver circle draw took place recently and the winners were Jamie Culleton, Marie O’ Connor, Andy Heffernan, Denis Phelan, Billy and Eily Roche, Mary and Willie Long, Catherine Mernagh, Helen Saunders, John and Marie Sheehan, James Cody of Weatherstown, Bill and Ann Marie Fitzgerald, Ger Doherty, John and Breda Garvey and Michael Dunphy.
