ALL-IRELAND SKITTLES - Congratulations goes to the Barna Skittles team who won the All-Ireland Tournament at the Valley Inn last Sunday week when they defeated Ballingarry after a very hard fought game. Team: Bobby Coloughney, Vincent Coloughney, Stephen Coloughney, Joe Coloughney, Anthony Coloughney, Richard Breen, Graine Parish. Also congrats goes to the Barna ladies who won their games.

URLINGFORD COMMUNITY CHILDCARE CENTRE - We are now taking names for enrolment for August/September 2012. Our modern custom built centre caters for children aged between 12 months to 12 years (6th class). SINCERE SYMPATHY - The death has taken place, unexpectedly, in London of Mrs Statia McSweeney (nee Webster), late of Borrisbeg, Urlingford and daughter of the late Danny and Mai Webster. She belonged to a highly respected family and her passing was deeply regretted by all her family and close friends in Urlingford who remembered Statia. Burial took place in London. Deeply regretted by her loving family, brothers, sisters, relatives and friends.

THANKS - Gortnahoe/Glengoole Juvenile Club would like to thank Joe Deegan and all Centra staff in Urlingford for their hospitality during our recent fund raising event in their store, also the generosity shown by local people was great, thank you for all the support.

SINCERE SYMPATHY - The death has taken place, peacefully, at his residence of Mr Tom Healy, The Islands, Urlingford. He belonged to a highly respected family of the farming community. He bore his illness with great dignity and his passing was deeply regretted over a very wide area where he was held in the highest esteem. This bore testimony to the high attendance at the removal of his remains to the Church of the Assumption, Urlingford and after Requiem Mass, burial took place in the Mill Cemetery. Deeply regretted by his heartbroken wife Ann, son Fergus, daughters Patsy and Catherine, grandchildren Aiden, sister Mary (McHugh), brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives and a wide circle of friends and neighbours.

IN APPRECIATION - Peggy Burke wishes to thank Canon Dunphy with whom she worked as sacristan since 1977 and most recently Fr Maher. Thanks also to the readers, ministers of the Eucharist, collector, the ladies who take care of flowers, members of the parish choir, past and present, the children who serve at Mass, also past and present, thanks to all parishioners for so many memories. SINCERE SYMPATHY - The death has taken place at St Luke’s Hospital, Kilkenny of Mrs Mary Martin (nee Moriarty), Assumption Place, Urlingford and formerly of St Mary’s Avenue. She was a member of a lovely, quiet Urlingford family, always willing to lend a hand to anyone who needed help. She will be sadly missed. She had a hart of gold and this bore testimony to her popularity to the large attendance at the removal of the remains from her residence to Church of the Assumption, Urlingford and after Requiem Mass burial took place in Johnstown Cemetery. Deeply regretted by her sorrowing family, brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and a large circle of close friends and neighbours.

CERTIFICATE IN THEOLOGICAL STUDIES - This course aims to provide general Theological Education and Formation in the main aspects of faith aimed at those who are interested in lay involvement and leadership roles at parish and diocesan level.
