Muckalee: AGM for Play School

A.G.M. Playschool - Muckalee Community Playschool’s AGM will take place on Wednesday 24th October at 8pm, All are welcome.

Muckalee Community Project - Halloween Camp for school going children will be held from Tuesday, 30th October to Friday 2nd November from 9.30 am. to 2pm. Cost €10 per day.

Day trip, Spooky baking, Fancy dress party, Art & crafts and lots of fun and games for all.

Sale of Work - Coon sale of work for 2012 will be held on Sunday 25th November at 2pm. Any donation of trees for the timber auction or any support or sponsorship is very welcome.

Badminton - Johnswell Junior Badminton training recommences on Saturdays for U-13 at 4pm., U-15 and U-17 at 5pm. and U-11 on Sunday mornings at 10.45 am.

U-12 Girls football - Muckalee U-12 girl footballers were beaten by Barrow Gaels in the U-12 league on Saturday last in Muckalee.  The final score was Barrow Gaels  6—4, Muckalee 4—3. After conceding  an early goal and a point in the first few minutes they were fighting an uphill battle. However, they never threw in the towel and had Barrow Gaels on the backfoot by the end. A lack of training for the past few weeks didn’t help but all is not lost yet and a few more games have to be played.

U-10 Hurling - St Martins Under 10’s were kindly invited to O Loughlins blitz on Saturday last.  We were in the A competition and the lads competed very well with Kilmacud Crokes, O Donavan Rossa, Jas Stephens and Craobh Ciaran.  It was a great expierence for the boys to play teams from other counties especially O Donavan Rossa from Aintrim who left at 6am to make the Blitz.  Thanks to Nigel Leydon for his kind invitation and to all the parents and especially to all the boys who represented the club proudly once again. Ballyfoyle Gymkhana - Ballyfoyle Gymkhana would like to thank all those who helped to make this year’s event such a success. We are delighted to donate the proceeds to the following: Muckalee School Building Fund, Carlow/Kilkenny Home Care Team, Day Care Centre, Castlecomer, Ballyfoyle Senior Citizens, Ballyfoyle Lourdes Fund, Ballyfoyle Active Retirement, Muckalee Play Group, Coon Senior Citizens and Grow.

Quarter exit - St. Martins made their exit from this years championship at the quarter final stage in Nowlan Park . Martins opponents were City side Dicksboro who started the better to lead at the break 1-8 to 0-9. Martins started the second half well and take the lead but two further goals from Dicksboro sent them into the semi-finals. Despite scoring 19 points with great contributions from John Mulhall and John Maher the goals just would not come despite some gallant efforts by all the lads. Final score 3-15 to 0-19.
