UNDER 8 CAMOGIE - The summer weather is disappointing and rain is unrelenting but spirits were lifted by St. Brigid’s under 8s on Saturday, 28 July in James Stephens, Larchfield where this great group of girls were on a winning streak.

The girls faced Dicksboro in their first match where they conceded an early goal but replied with two goals of their own in quick succession.

Moya, Lauren Ronan, Orla and Ellie started in mid field and did great work sending a great supply of ball into the forwards.

The forwards saw plenty of action as Louise, Lauren East and Robyn worked very well and helped score several goals.

The defence was solid throughout as Claire, Molly Dunne and Katie Maher worked hard and ensured that Molly Lawlor had only a couple of fantastic saves to make.

The girls really settled down in the second half and were totally tin control of the game when the final whistle blew.

After a short break the girls faced James Stephens and got off to a great start with a few early goals. The girls played in different positions in this match and showed just how versatile they are.

Molly Dunne, Robyn, Lauren E. and Claire were in midfield. Orla, Louise and Molly L. were in defence while Lauren R., Moya and Ellie did great work in the forwards. Katie Maher was great as usual in goal.

The girls were easy winners in the end of another great day for the team. Well done girls, the hard work has really paid off.
