A HiSTORY OF CLOGH - The impact of budgetary cuts to education like all parents all over Ireland has left parents fundraising to support their own children’s education. The parent’s council of St Patricks National School Clogh are attempting to fundraise by offering something positive to our community here in Clogh. In 2011 it was our beautiful calendar. It was a great success and resulted in us raising €1800.00. This year the concept of a book is being developed. This book would focus on the past, present and the future. It will be a compilation of photographs, short local anecdotes, history and folklore. The proceeds from its sale will be donated to our school. The sale of the book will be targeting the Christmas market and harnessing the possibility of our emigrant friends and family members enjoying it. Therefore the process has to be time limited, we would like to complete all submissions by early October. To facilitate and ensure that any interested individual or organisation has the opportunity to contribute to this project we are holding a meeting on Wednesday 3rd October in Clogh Parish Centre @ 8.30pm.
