Pretty Wedding - On Saturday afternoon last as the sun shone on the hills of Tullaroan the wedding of Olivia Maher and P.J. McCormack took place in the Church of the Assumption. Olivia’s sisters Deirdre and Lorraine were the bridesmaids and Francis P.J’s brother was bestman.
The groomsmen Eamon and Darren Donohoe, flower girl Kate Delaney and page boy Daniel Rendon. Music by Siobhán Maguire, Patrice O’Connor, Aideen Byrne and Lorraine Maher. The Nuptial Mass was con celebrated by Fr. Jim Murphy P.P. St. Canice’s Kilkenny and Fr. Patsy Guilfoyle P.P. Tullaroan.
The reception was held in Leyrath Hotel, Dublin Road, Kilkenny.
Olivia is daughter of Nicholas and Ellen Maher, Brittas, Tullaroan, and P. J. is son of Mr. and Mrs. McCormack, Gorthahoe, Co. Tipperary.
Fund Raiser - A monster bingo will be held in the Community Centre on Thursday 25th October commencing at 8.30pm. The money generated will be used to insulate the Centre and your support would be very much appreciated.
Sympathy - Deep sympathy to Eugene Walsh, Rahealy, Elizabeth Maher, Courtstown and Ann Maher, Oldtown on the recent death of their nephew Michael Walsh, Hillview, Coolcullen, Co. Kilkenny.
Whist Drive - A whist drive will be held in the Community Centre on Wednesday 24th October commencing at 8.30pm. Proceeds to the Community Centre.
Hurling Club - A club shop will be run in the club rooms for two days over the bank holiday weekend. All profits from this venture will be reinvested in the development of the hurling club grounds. On sale will be a large range of items including club hoodies, tracksuit tops, jackets, hats, wristbands, pink & green/white sliotar, club hurley key rings, club sliotar car air fresheners as well as a number of Kilkenny coloured wooden toys. There are some great ideas for Christmas presents & stocking fillers especially for anyone with family living away.
Minor Hurling - The Tullaroan minor hurling team had a very good win over Carrickshock in the Kilkenny Honda Centre Minor Championship Roinn ‘C’ Final held at Tom Ryall Park, Kilmanagh on Saturday afternoon last.
Tullaroan started very well where two good goals early in the match set them put them in a lead which they never lost. An all round great performance from the team led them to victory.
The Bord Na Nóg have now won finals this year at U14, U16 and minor level which looks good for the future of the hurling club.
A big thanks to the mentors of the minor team Eamon Sweeney, Jerry Doheny, Michael Walsh and Liam Keoghan.

Drama Group - A meeting of Tullaroan Drama Group will be held in the Community Centre on Thursday 23rd October at 8.30pm. The group are currently seeking new members to take part in plays/sketches for the forthcoming Christmas concert.
Best Wishes - Keith Molloy, Ardabawn who is home after spending some time in St. Luke’s General Hospital is wished a speedy recovery.
Best wishes to Jimmy McGrath, Courtstown who is recovering from his recent surgery.
Benefit Night - A feast of Irish traditional music and concert with local artists will be held in Langtons, John Street, Kilkenny on Wednesday 7th November. Tickets cost €10.00 and sellers will be calling around the Tullaroan area during the coming week. Your support would be very much appreciated.
