COMMUNITY ALERT - We now have 220 signed up members in our Community Alert Text System. Shortly these members will receive text messages concerning crime and theft in our area. In the next month we hope to put up new Community Alert Text alert signs around the parish. It is also encouraging to note that most of our neighboring parishes are also establishing Text Alert in their localities. At present the local Gardai contact numbers are 056 8831133 or 086 8580628. When we are fully operations we will give our members a phone number for the 24 hour manned head garda office in Kilkenny.

URLINGFORD/GRAINE DEFIBRILLATOR GROUP - Meeting once a month in the Urlingford Community Childcare Centre. We would like to get as many volunteers as possible so please come along and bring a friend – together we could save a life.

MILL FAMILY RESOURCE CENTRE - Anyone taking part in the St Patrick’s Day Parade will be meeting at the Emeralds GAA Field at 1.30pm. Also there is a new walking group starting on Wednesday, March 13 at 7pm from MFRC. All welcome. Exercise class on in the Community Hall, Urlingford every Friday morning from 11.15, all welcome. EMERLDS CAMOGIE CLUB - Will hold Keep Fit/Circuit Training each Friday for members from U16 upwards. Classes will be held in the Old School, Urlingford at 7.30pm. Registrations for Bord na nÓg and Emeralds Camogie Club will take place this Saturday in the Old School, Urlingford from 2.30pm-4.30pm. All players must be registered before the season begins. Emeralds Camogie Club wish to congratulate Niamh Leahy and Ciara Phelan who were part of the Loretto Camogie team who beat St. Brigid’s, Loughrea in the Senior A Colleges Camogie Final in Nenagh on Saturday. This is a great achievement for the Loretto Secondary School as it is their fourth time to win this All-Ireland in a row.
