Young Irelands of Gowran were represented as both JP Treacy and Paul Delahunty played their part in the schools victory.

JP scored two frees from long distance during the opening-half, and did plenty of good defensive work, while Paul scored an early second-half point that put the CBS into a 6 point lead that they would never subsequently relinquish.

Kilkenny CBS now march on into the All-Ireland semi-finals which is scheduled to be played over this coming St. Patricks weekend.

YOUNG IRELANDS GAA LOTTO - The numbers drawn for last weeks lotto were 3, 10, 16, 25.

The Jackpot wasn’t won and the 5 x €35 winners were Marian Kealy, Karen Dreeling, Michael McGrath, Mary Whitford and Lar Gibbons.

This weeks jackpot is worth €4,800.

CONFIRMATION - Last Sunday in the local church, Bishop Seamus Freeman administered the Sacrament of Confirmation to 34 girls and 33 boys from 5th and 6th class in front of a packed attendance in the local church.

The combined choirs of Gowran and Dungarvan churches provided the music that greatly added to the ceremony.

MUSIC AND SONG FOR OVER-40S - Every Wednesday night from 8-10pm, there is great music and song.

Come along for a great nights entertainment where refreshments will be served.

ST. PATRICKS DAY - For St. Patricks Day this coming weekend, there are special masses in the local church on Saturday evening and Sunday morning.

The choirs will be singing Irish songs especially for the occasion, while musicians playing Irish music will also be celebrated.

Before, during and after mass, a group of local musicians will adorn the Liturgy with Irish music been played to celebrate our faith.

THE GATHERING CELEBRATION WEEK - Last week, there was a meeting to confirm the intention of having events from Saturday 10th to Sunday 18th August as part of the Gathering Celebration week.

Events that have been considered as part of the Gathering week including special evening at Gowran Races, Church Concert, open air traditional concer, hurling match and young people’s fancy dress among other events.

The next meeting is on Monday 25th March at 8pm.
