Piltown - Katie’s wish to talk fundraiser

Fundraising - The draw for Katie’s Wish to Walk Raffle was held on Friday 8th March in Piltown GAA Complex. There was a very large crowd in attendance with some prominent faces in the crowds such as Noel Hickey, Ann Downey & the star of the night, Katie herself.

Chairman, Dan Kenny thanked everyone for the massive support they have show towards the fundraising for little Katie. Katie’s Mum, Aisling made a heartfelt speech ‘thanking everybody who has contributed to the fundraising for the kindness and generosity they have shown to us. It is impossible to put into words how much it means to us to be in a position to take Katie to St Louis for this life changing surgery. We will be eternally grateful to everyone who helped in any way’.

The Raffle was held then with Katie drawing out the first ticket.

FUNDRAISING WHIST DRIVE FOR ‘Katie’s Wish to Walk’ - A Whist Drive will be held on Tuesday 19th March at 8.15pm in The Parish Hall opposite Anthony’s carpark. All proceeds are going towards Katie’s Wish to Walk. All welcome.

Flora Women’s Mini Marathon - Need motivation for getting fit? Why not run, jog or walk the 10km Flora Women’s Mini Marathon for Our Lady’s Children Hospital & Medical Research Centre Crumlin, Dublin on Bank Holiday Mon, June 3rd. A bus will run from the Piltown/Carrick-on-Suir area. T– Shirts supplied & goodie bags will be collected and issued to you. It’s a great day out. Kildalton College Careers Day - Kildalton College Careers Day takes place on Friday, 15th March. Tours Start at 10am & 11am. Courses on Offer from Certificate to Degree Level.

Zumba Classes - Classes have commenced in Piltown GAA Complex on Monday evenings at 7pm, €6 per class (Students - €5). Come & get fit the fun way, you won’t even realise you’re working out. Beginners are welcome. Check out ‘Nita Zumba’ on facebook.

Piltown Camogie Club Registration night for Piltown Camogie Club is on Friday, 15th March in Piltown GAA Complex at 8pm. Registration is €30 for u18, with a family membership of €70 for 3 or more juveniles. Adult membership is €40 & non-playing members €10. The emphasis for Piltown Camogie Club is on every girl to enjoy playing her chosen sport, regardless of ability. This promotes exclusivity & brings its own rewards.
