Clogh/Moonenroe - Clogh girls are aces

HANDBALL - Clogh Club ran Girls B singles tournaments in Under10, Under11 and Under12 grades over the weekend. Taking part in the U10 B singles from Clogh were Aisling Cooney, Holly Delaney, Lauren Power and Holly Byrne and from Kells Sonya Stanley, in Under11 B Singles were Eva Brennan, Nicole Dowling from Clogh and from Kells Meg Ryan, Hannah Lodge and Ciara Walsh, U12 B singles from Clogh were Ally Nash de Andrade, Brona Nash de Andrade, Natasha Mayo, Shannon Delaney, Amy Brennan and from Mothel Rebecca Roche. All the girls provided great entertaining games of Handball, Aisling Cooney (Clogh) defeated Sonya Stanley (Kells) while in the Under10 B singles Final, Hannah Lodge (Kells) dft Ciara Walsh (Kells) in U11 B Singles Final and Rebecca Roche Mothel dft Brona Nash deAndrade in the Under12 B singles final. A big thank you to all the coaches who put in tremendous work with all the Juveniles and to Ned Mahon who ran a very successful tournament, A Girls Under13B Singles tournament was held in Kells and taking part from Clogh were April Nash Noronha, Shannon Delaney and Natasha Mayo. Once again there were great games on show and the three girls diaplayed some great handball skills.

HURLING - Cloneen junior hurlers were seriously lacking in fire power when losing by 0-16 to 0-8 in the All County League in Clogh on Saturday.Well done to our under 8 hurlers who competed in the Ossery faith festival under 8 blitz in St. Kierans College on Saurday 11th May. Winning their three games against Dicksboro, Lisdowney and Ballycallan.A reat day had by all and medals were presented by county senior hurler Paul Murphy. Representing Clogh / Moneenroe were Dara Brennan, Cian Mooney, Harry Roche, Adam Buggy , Jonah Kelly, Jack O Neill, James O Neill, Ronan Lynch.Well dobe to all the mentors Involved.

I.C.A. SUMMER CLEANUP - Clogh I.C.A. are looking for volunteers to join them in a general clean up of the village and approach roads on Thursdayof next week 30 May. Anyone interested in taking part is asked to meet up with the group at thepump on the cross at 7 pm.

CAR WASH - A car wash will be available in the grounds of Moneenroe National School next Saturday from 12 noon until 6 pm with all proceeds going towards school funds. Avail of thos opportunity to have your car washed and support your local school.

DINE OUT - The Dine Out service at the Clogh Parish Centre is being extended to include Wednesdays and Sundays. This service, provided by local chef Paddy Power has received rave reviews ftom the many people who have availed of it. Hot or cold food for functions is also available to order and collect. Another All Ireland title to Clogh - On Sunday in Talbots Inch, Kilkenny, the All Ireland Junior Doubles Hardball final took place between Kilkenny and Limerick. Daniel Love (Clogh) paired up with Ciaran Neary (Talbots Inch) to take on Eamon Davern and John Keyes of Limerick. The Kilkenny duo pulled out all the stops to win the final 21-14 21-10.
