Balloon Dancing

Social Ballroom Dancing is now in progress in St. Kieran’s Hall , Johnstown and will continue every Wednesday night starting at 8 oclock for the coming winter months. If you would like to learn to dance the “old time “waltz, the quickstep, the foxtrot and the tango please come along and bring your friends. You dont need a partner. Badminton.

Juvenile badminton will begin in St. Kieran’s Hall next Friday night October 11th. Times 6.30pm for beginners to 2nd class, 7.30 for 3rd to 6th class, 9pm for secondary school students. Registration fee €25 per child. AGM and registration on Wed October 16th in St Kieran’s Hall. It is important that one parent/guardian from each family attend as registration needs to be done on that night.

Parish Mission.

A parish Mission given by St Patrick’s Community, Carrick on Shannon , Co. Leitrim will take place in St Kieran’s Church, Johnstown from November 9th to 15th.

The recent Church gate collection in aid of the Irish Kidney Association in Johnstown and Crosspatrick realised €629.35. The Association wishes to thank everyone who supported this good cause.

Emeralds GAA Club

October Stations

The October Stations for priests income is now due. The envelopes are in the pack of envelopes delivered to each house at the beginning of the year.

Daughters of Charity...the Daughters of Charity of St Vincent de Paul will visit Johnstown Parish next weekend Oct 12/13th. They will speak at all Masses about their work in Africa . There will also be an appeal for help in their work.

Auction

The Fenians GAA Club will hold their annual Fuel Auction on Sunday Nov 17th starting at 2pm. Anybody wishing to donate trees, cut timber, turf or any fuel towards this auction please contact Willie Costigan 0872807599 or John Maher 0862943684 as soon as possible. numbers drawn were 2,10,22,28. There was no jackpot winner and one match 3s Paddy Tone c/o Morrisseys shop. Next weeks jackpot €5,600 and the draw is in Ryans of the Cross.

The all weather pitch in Colaiste Mhuire is now available for clubs to book and use over the winter. With the fine weather coming to an end and the nights closing in it is the ideal venue to carry on training. Contact the school or John Cahill.

Set Dancing is all the rage in Urlingford hall now . Sets are being taught by Declan Doocey and the set on the go at the moment is the Rinkinstown set. Music is provided by Danny Webster and anyone who would like to learn to dance sets is more than welcome.
