St Johns - O’Loughlin Gaels seniors battle hard for victory

VICTORY-Well done to the O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club’s Senior team and management for claiming two points from a hard earned victory over Erin’s Own of Castlecomer last Saturday night in Ballyraggett. Ballyraggett’s enclosed playing area will always mean Senior Championship games will be close and tight and victory will, more than likely ,go to the team that grinds it out the most over the hour. And so it played out last Saturday night. O’Loughlins, never outstanding , did more than Erin’s own to earn victory. If the Comer forward line were more useful, the result might have been different, yes, but the O’Loughlins defence is good as well. See full match report in People Sport.

JUNIORS REMAIN UNBEATEN-The O’Loughlin Gaels Junior team had a rather big gap to spare over St. Martins in round 2 of the Junior League Championship in John’s Park last Sunday. The final winning margin of 3.20 to 1.7 would not have been expected but nevertheless very welcome. Well done to all involved.
