Golf Classic-Tullaroan Hurling Club Golf Classic will take place on Thursday and Friday 26th and 27th July in Rathdowney Golf Club. Recently Deceased-On Wednesday last the death took place at a relatively young age of Mary Ronan, Oldtown, Tullaroan. Mary who was sick for a short period bore her illness with dignity. She was a very popular lady in the community who always had a nice smile for those whom she came in contact with. The large attendance at her funeral was a testimony to her popularity.
Her Requiem Mass was con celebrated by Fr. P. Guilfoyle P.P. Tullaroan and Fr. Buckley O.F.M. after which her remains were removed to the local Cemetery. Mary is survived by her husband Shem, sons Niall and Barry, grandchild, sisters, brothers, sisters in law, brothers in law, mother in law, and a very large circle of friends.
Playground-An open meeting will take place on Wednedsay the 18th July at 8.30 in the community centre for all those interested in the proposed playground at the Tullaroan sports grounds.
BBQ-After the success of the BBQ held at the Tullaroan sports grounds last year the BBQ is returning on the Sunday the 5th August. There is great interest in this year’s BBQ so get your tickets early from any member of the committee.
Whist Drive-A whist drive will be held on Friday 20th July in the Tullaroan community Centre commencing at 9pm. The proceeds of this whist drive will go to Parish Funds.
Hurling-The Tullaroan senior team put up a very good performance against Ballyhale/Shamrocks in the St. Canice’s Kilkenny Credit Union senior hurling league held at Dunamaggin sports grounds on Saturday evening last. Unfortunately they went under on a scoreline of Ballyhale/Shamrocks 3-15 to Tullaroan 0-20. It is hoped that the team will keep up this level of performance for the remaining league which will be against St. Martin’s.
Minor Hurling-Tullaroan Minors recommence their league campagin after the exam break when they travelled to Gowran last week to take on the local side. Tullaroan led from the start and finished up winners on a score line of 4-16 to 2-5.
This win has now qualified the team for the league semi-final.

U14-U-14s were out against neighbours Freshford last Thursday night in wet and windy Pairc Lachtain. Here Tullaroan proved to be the stronger of the two sides and won on a score line of 2-12 to 0-2.
