Village:Village claims Under 16 double glory

U16 CHAMPIONSHIP-To win one championship in a grade in one season is a special achievement...To win two under-age championships in the same grade in the one day is an extra special achievement. Congratulations to our wonderful Village U-16 A and B squads as they powered their way to championship success last Saturday in Thomastown. The Village A squad powered their way to a much deserved victory over Rower Inistioge. The Village boys dominated this county final from the off as they showed skill and determination in bucketful’s, scoring a massive 2-22 from play throughout this encounter. Right throughout the field the Village had players who gave their all in pursuit of glory. To a man the Village performed heroically throughout with the defence constantly stifling the Rower attack. The mid-field was dominated by captain Luke Scanlon who drove and inspired his side to victory. The Village attack played with great gusto and movement. Well done to all the players and management team on a great championship victory!
