Conahy: Nickey takes the chair in Conahy

GAA AGM - Conahy Shamrocks held their AGM in the GAA Clubhouse on Friday night last. A sizeable attendance contributed to what was a positive review of the year’s activities and with good discussion on plans both on and off the field for the coming year. Secretary Padraig Healy provided a thorough report on activities throughout the year and thanked everyone who contributed in different ways to the development of the club. Treasurer Paul Buggy provided the meeting with a detailed financial report and urged everyone to try where possible to support the club more financially during these difficult economic times. Tributes were paid to club auditor Pat Cahill for his great contribution in advising the club on financial matters. Outgoing chairman Kevin Mulhall also thanked everyone for their support for the club and encouraged all members to contribute and assist with club affairs where possible. The officers elected for 2013 were as follows: Chairman – Nickey Brennan, Secretary – Padraig Healy, Treasurer – Catherine Carroll, Vice-Chairman – Declan Downey, Assistant Secretary – Seamus Óg Brennan. The under-21 hurlers face Graigue-Ballycallan in the Roinn B shield semi-final in Ballyragget this weekend after the game was cancelled last weekend due to the inclement weather.

CAMOGIE AGM - Conahy Shamrocks Camogie Club hold their AGM on this Friday night at 8.30 p.m. in the GAA Clubhouse. All members and parents are welcome to attend.

FOOTBALL - The under-16 footballers, following the victory over Young Irelands last weekend, will face Fenians in their Roinn C championship semi-final on this coming Saturday at 11.30 a.m.

LOTTO - The numbers in the recent Conahy Shamrocks GAA Club Lotto draw were 12, 30 and 34. There was no jackpot winner so the consolation prize winners were The Webster Girls, Dan Byrne, Mary Walsh, Ned Mulhall and Marty Buggy. The promoters’ prize winners were Margaret Buggy, Mona Dooley and Mary Harding. This week’s jackpot now stands at €4,300.

HERITAGE SOCIETY - Conahy Heritage Society holds their AGM tonight (Wednesday) in Conahy Hall at 8.00 p.m. All Society members are welcome to attend.

DEENSIDE WHEELERS - The Deenside Wheelers AGM will take place on Monday 10th December at 8 p.m. in Wandesforde N.S. Hall in Castlecomer. All club members and anyone interested in joining the Cycling Club are very welcome to attend.

ST. VINCENT DE PAUL - A Church Door Collection for St Vincent de Paul will take place this week end (December 8th/9th). People are asked to be as generous as they can in these difficult times.
