Medal Presentation-We had a very enjoyable evening in the club last Friday when our under 16 panel were presented with their league medals by Cillian Buckley. Chairman, Eddie Holohan welcomed all who attended and congratulated the boys on their victory and the way they conducted themselves during the year. He also had praise for their mentors and parents. Juvenile Chairman, Pat Carroll also congratulated the team and gave them some advice before handing over to team manager, Peter Dukelow, who introduced each team member individually before being presented with their medal. Well done to the team management of Peter Dukelow, Martin Gaffney, Enda Malone, Paddy Cahill and Anthony Martin. On Saturday 15th December at 8pm, it will be turn of our under 14 panel to be presented with their medals in another night of celebration.

Under 21-Our Under 21 Roinn ‘A’ team had a tough and close game against the Village last Saturday in the North League Shield semi final, held in Palmerstown. Scores from play from both teams were not in huge supply in the first half with seven of the eleven first half points coming from placed balls. After trailing by 0-5 to 0-6 at HT, the ‘Boro set out their stall early in the second half with two points within five minutes. The Village were awarded a penalty on eight minutes, which they converted to maximum points but the edge of this was taken off with a pointed free from the ‘Boro soon after. The Village failed to score from play in the entire second half, whilst the ‘Boro grew in confidence and despite only winning by two points, it was a well deserved win. Dicksboro 0-13 James Stephens 1-8. Panel: Aaron Duggan, Michael Hayes, Evan Cody, Rory Glynn, Kevin Nolan, Danny Kenny, Jessie Watters, Jamie Lynch, Robbie Fitzpatrick, Evan Guilfoyle, Martin Gaffney(Capt), Eoin Gough, Kevin Kenny, Mason Clifford, Darragh Buggy, Eamonn Campion, Stephen Farrell, James Murphy, James Gittens.

Minors- The writing seemed to be on the wall at halftime of this league semi final as we trailed by 0-4 to 2-6 in a bitterly cold Palmerstown last Saturday. Dunnamaggan added another 2-2 to our 0-3 in the first seventeen minutes of the second half and despite a late rally from the ‘Boro, it was our opponents goal scoring ability that won the day for them. Dicksboro 1-9 Dunnamaggan 4-8. Panel: John Hanrick, Billy Rowe, Conor Doheny, Brian Comerford, Ronán Butler, Thomas Carroll, Jim Dollard, Shane O’Brien, Kieran Ryan, Andrew Gaffney, Jason Carroll, Alan Comerford, Mark McGarry, Paddy Boyd, Robert Murphy, Aaron Purcell, Robert Crotty.

Seasonal Food Extravaganza- Over 250 people turned up last Thursday night at Newpark Hotel to enjoy the Christmas with a Twist Cookery Extravaganza with Anne Neary & Edward Hayden. A welcoming complimentary glass of wine along with a Kilkenny Food Trail Producers Fair set the tone for a hugely successful social & fundraising event for the club. On a night when raffle tickets sold out, the first prize of two nights B & B for two at any Flynn Hotel in Ireland was scooped by a delighted club member, Deirdre Brennan, Fanore.
