Social Night - The Blacks and Whites social night was held in the clubhouse at Tom Walsh Park last Saturday and was a great success. A huge crowd turned out to support the event which was thoroughly enjoyed by young and old. Music on the night was provided by Conor Murphy initially with DJ Nigel Tracey finishing off the evening. Medals were presented on the night to the victorious Intermediate Football team which won the league in 2012 by Chairman Dr Michael Helly who had a fitting introduction for each medal recipient. Tom O Reilly from Kilkenny County Board presented the Medals with Michael Helly and commended the club on the running of the social night in their own clubhouse and wished everyone all the best for 2013. He also made reference to former chairman Ned Moran and praised him on his commitment to the football umbrella of the club over a long number of years which received a round of applause. Thanks must also go to the ladies committee who organised food for everyone on the night which was appreciated and enjoyed by all. A great night in general which will surely be replicated in the future.
Junior Hurling - Blacks and Whites Junior Hurlers enjoyed a huge win last Saturday night in the All County Junior Hurling. The lads overcame Mooncoin on a scoreline of 4-24 to 2-10 which saw some great individual performances and some fine score taking also. Hopefully this will auger well for the coming weekend as the lads face Slieverue in the 1st round of the League Championship. That game goes ahead at 7.00pm in Slieverue next Saturday 27th April.
SKEOUGHVOSTEEN COMMUNITY GAMES - Athletics Training continues each Tuesday and Friday in Tom Walsh Park from 6-7pm.
