Owning N.S. science exhibition

The pupils will hold a Science Exhibition in the school hall on Sunday, 28th April after 10 o’clock Mass. Refreshments will be served and all are welcome.

VEC music course - The very successful VEC Music Course which runs on Thursday & Friday nights in Piltown Community Centre will finish the Spring 2013 term in May. The course which is absolutely free of charge to participants will recommence in September with FETAC accreditation. First annual waterford truck & motor show - The First Annual Waterford Truck & Motor Show takes place on the 18th & 19th May at Waterford Business Park in aid of the South East Radiotheraphy Trust. A great Family day out.

Camogie Training - Camogie Training for all ages has recommenced in Piltown GAA Complex. Training nights are Monday, Wednesday and Friday. All newcomers welcome as we field teams in all the following age groups; U8, U10, U12, U14, U16, Minor & Intermediate.

Piltown Children’s Basketball Club - Basketball training takes place every Friday evening in the Community Centre for Under 10’s, Under 12 Girls and Under 14 Boys. Under 10 training for both boys & girls takes place from 6-7pm. Under 12 Girls training takes place from 7-8pm & Under 14 Boys training takes place from 8-9pm. €2 per week. Everyone welcome.

Scrap builds hurling wall! - Hurlers & Camogie players of all ages are getting huge enjoyment & improving their skills from using the hurling wall built, largely, with the proceeds of selling scrap. We are taking scrap for two more weeks. So if you want to do some spring cleaning we will gladly accept any electrical appliances, car batteries, in fact anything from a tricycle to a combine harvester. Bring your scrap along to the creamery yard in Piltown from Monday to Friday until 5:30pm, or till 1pm on Saturdays. If you want any scrap collected ring 087-2570639.

Piltown Juniors Win Again - Piltown travelled to Leighlinbridge to take on Naomh Brid from Carlow in the All County Junior Hurling League on Saturday evening. Following an impressive performance, where they led by 1 – 15 to 0 – 4 at half time, the visitors came away with a nine point win on a final score of Piltown 1 -19 Naomh Brid 1 – 10.

This is Piltown’s third win in the competition ,where they already registered wins over Mooncoin, & Blacks and Whites, whilst their only set- back came against St. Martins.

Piltown Under 16’s come out on top

Piltown Under 16 Hurlers edged out Graigue Ballycallan by one point in a thriller in their League match in Piltown on Friday night. This was a great battle from start to finish & it finished in a welter of excitement as the Visitors fought mightily to snatch victory in the dying minutes. The home team, to their credit withstood the onslaught & just about deserved their win.

Progressive 30’s cards at GAA Complex - Davy Blackmore and Ralph Blackmore were the winners in the regular Thursday night progressive Card game at the Piltown G.A.A. Complex last week.
