Soccer - Thomastown United Junior A side progress to the Quarter Finals of the McCalmount Cup after defeating Bridge Utd B in a windy Goresbridge last Sunday afternoon. With-in the first minute Thomastown got on the score board through Eoin Manning. Thomastown grabbed the bull by the horns and by the time the final whistle came around there were 6-2 to the good. Goals came from Steven Connolly (3), Eoin Manning, Andy Kavanagh, Aaron Broaders.

Next up for the Junior A’s is a crucial home fixture against Freebooters in United Park on Friday evening 19th. Please come along and show your support as this is their last home league game of the Season.

Junior B side played Newpark B last Saturday evening. A cracker of a game and Thomastown were unfortunate not to take at least a draw from the game. Final score 4-3. Thomastown’s goals came from Sean Brennan (2), Danny McDonald.

Thomastown United Under 14’s travel to Offaly this coming Saturday to take on Edenderry in the SFAI Goodson Cup semi final. It is just the second time a schoolboys team from Kilkenny got this far in the National Cup. A bus will run to the game for supporters also and any one interested is to give their name to either Carol Whelan in Prendergast butchers, Market Street or else into the reception of Grennan College. All support would be great fully appreciated.

Dancing - Launch of Social dancing commences in The Long Man, Thomastown on Friday the 19th April. Music with Michael Collins and Checkers.

Thomastown Communtiy Centre - The entire floor in the concert hall has been removed down to the hardcore of hundred years ago to allow for the raydon barrier and 100mm xtrathen floor insulation. the new floor will finish level with the entrance lobby facing marshes street thus removing the need for a ramp. the first fixed plumbing has been installed and the scaffolding has been erected for the work to start on the roof of the concert hall. it will be finished with a natural slate. our fund raising initiative is ongoing.buy a block for 20.00 or a donation Bank Of Ireland.
