Croke Park is the dream for Feile girls

FEILE 2012 CAMOGIE NEWS - Preparations for Féile na nGael are continuing for the Piltown Under-14 Camogie team. They are in Division 1 in a group with their hosts St. Judes, Lucan Sarsfields (Dublin) and the Tipperary champions Newport-Ballinahinch. It will be a massive occasion for the girls starting on Thursday 5th July. They play their hosts St. Judes at 2pm in Tymon Park. Then at 5:30pm, they along with all the other Camogie, hurling, handball and rounders teams they will gather at Croke Park for a colourful parade down to O’Connell Street. Then on the Friday they will play Lucan Sarsfields at 10am in 12th Lock with a game against Newport-Ballinahinch at 1:30pm at the same venue. 12th Lock is in Blanchardstown and is the one of the home pitches of Lucan Sarsfields. Should results go Piltown’s way they will face a semi-final at 7pm that evening at either Naomh Mearnog or Blakestown Road venues. Should the ultimate dream come true, on Saturday 6th July, Piltown Under-14 Camogie team will become the first team from the parish to play in an All-Ireland Final in Croke Park at 1pm. The adventure comes as a cost though. This is a monetary cost, but thankfully several organisations and businesses have already put their money into the preparations and their contributions are much appreciated by the club, squad and parents of the players. However, there is room for more help. If you wish to help out in anyway, you can contact PRO, Gay Doyle (087-2905677) or Secretary Sheila Norris (087-6692785). The current list of sponsors are as follows; Iverk Show (Jersey Sponsor), Piltown Ladies Gaelic Football Club, Gay Doyle Construction, Morris Oil, Lord Magan (Castletown Cox Estate), Bank of Ireland (Carrick-On-Suir), John Reynolds (Kereen Building Services), Piltown Credit Union, Tennyson Lawnmowers, Angelsea Holdings (Dublin) and Clonmel Plumbing.
