Knockmoylan-A Mass to celebrate 200 years of the New Chapel in Knockmoylan will take place on Friday 22 June in Knockmoylan. A Photographic exhibition will also take place. Womens’ Guild-The Womens’ Guild are running their Senior Citizens outing to Bunratty Castle this year. They are travelling on 5 July, leaving at 9.30am. Anyone wishing to go with them should give their name to any member of the Guild before 30 June. Bus, Lunch and Dinner all for €20. All are welcome!

Tennis-The Shreddies Parks Tennis is coming up soon. It runs from Monday 16 July to Friday 27 July and 10 lessons costs €15. 6-8 year old are from 2-3pm; 9 to 12 are from 3-4pm and over 12’s is 4-5pm. All equipment is supplied. Enquiries to Josie Conway at 7768098 between 6pm and 8pm only.

County Hurling-Henry Shefflin’s road to recovery seems to be going well – he has played in several matches now, with no ill effects. Michael Fennelly is recovering also, albeit a little slower than first anticipated. Meanwhile both Colin Fennelly and TJ Reid are in flying form and no doubt looking forward to the massive challenge that will be the Dublin game this weekend.

Congratulations- to young Ger Fennelly who won an All-Ireland medal recently with London in the Christy Ring competition. Ger has re-located on a more permanent basis to London in the last year and was corner back on the winning team!

Congratulations -to Henry Shefflin who was chosen by the GAA to be their representative for the Olympic Torch carrying ceremony. Henry carried the torch around the recently opened Croke Park ‘Skywalk’ – an event which was televised live. He was accompanied by his wife Deirdre and also by Sadbh, Siún and young Henry.

Shamrocks-Michael Hoyne and colleagues are busy organising this year’s Shamrocks Golf Classic. Those interested in taking part should now be asking would-be teammates or would-be sponsors if they are also interested. The dates are Friday and Saturday 6 and 7 July, 2012 in Mountain View Golf Course. To book tee times contact Michael on 086 3764672 or the Club on 056 7768122. €200 per team of four – meal included!

Congratulations-Congratulations to Derek O’Shea and Marie Fitzpatrick who were married on Saturday 2 June 2012 in the Church in Ballyhale. Marie is the daughter of Jimmy and Emily Fitzpatrick who live literally a stone’s throw from the Church. Derek is the son of Michael and Theresa O’Shea from Cherrymount. The wedding reception was held in the Springhill Court Hotel and was attended by many local friends and family. A post wedding day party was also held in Andy’s the following day. The couple are planning a honeymoon for later in the year and will continue to live in the village of Ballyhale. We wish them a long and happy life together!

Oz-Yet another young person from the Parish is leaving soon to travel to Australia. Clodagh Doyle, the eldest daughter of Johnny and Ber Doyle and current Shamrocks Camogie player is set to leave soon for a one year trip to Australia. She will join dozens of other young people from the Parish who have left in recent months. A ‘going away’ party was held in the family home to wish her well on her travels!

Birthdays-Happy Birthday to Norleen Malone (Kilcready), Michael Dermody (Crowbally) and Darren Mason (Knocktopher) whose Birthdays were all last Friday! In the previous week Anthony Walsh (Coolmore) celebrated his Birthday. Congratulations to them and all who celebrated their Birthdays recently!
