SYMPATHY - Sincere sympathy goes to Pat Peters, Assumption Place, Urlingford, on the recent death of his sister Mary Purcell, Cascade St, Rathdowney. Interment took place in Bealady Cemetery, Rathdowney.

WHIST DRIVE - Your next whist drive to e held in S Mary’s Hall, Johnstown will be on July 13 (Friday).

ANNIVERSARIES - Anniversaries prayed for at all Masses last weekend both in Urlingford and Graine: Delia Glendon and Vincent Hayde, Kildrena.

OFFICIAL OPENING - The Mill Family Resource Centre are having their Official Opening on this Thursday, June 21 at 3pm by the Minister for Children and Youth Affairs Frances Fitzgerald. All are very welcome to come along.

COLLECTION - The June collection to support the Priest’s of the Parish is now due. Envelopes are now available in the church porch. Please bring one to your neighbour who may attend Mass elsewhere. A word of thanks to all for their generosity.

BUSTER DRAW - The Mill Family Resource Centre and Urlingford National School are running a Buster draw greyhound race on Wednesday, June 27, result of the draw will be on the finishing position of race 6 in Kilkenny greyhound track that night. First prize n500 and 5 Runner Up prizes of n50 each. Tickets are n5 each, anyone interested in buying tickets can buy them at The Mill Family Resource Centre or Urlingford National School.

ZUMBA FITNESS IN URLINGFORD - Ditch the Workout and join the Party! One hour of fun and fitness every Tuesday evening at 6.45pm and Thursday morning at 10.30am in the local Hall. All welcome, contact Sarah 087 7460707 for all information.

URLINGFORD LIBRARY - Open all day most days. Urlingford Library is taking names for the next FREE 7 week beginner’s computer course in internet skills. This is a computer course that will show you how to book a flight or a hotel and learn how to look up websites. Don’t miss this opportunity to learn new skills at the touch of a button!! Urlingford Library is hosting a display titled “A Beautiful Name”- gorgeous framed and unframed prints letting you know what your name stands for. All for sale and beautifully presented.

HOUSEHOLD CHARGE (Funding Local Services) - An important reminder from Kilkenny Local Authorities: For those that have not already paid, the Household Charge is now due for payment. Please register and pay online at www.householdcharge.ie or at the Kilkenny County Council offices in County Hall, John Street, Kilkenny.

URLINGFORD TIDY TOWNS COMMITTEE - The Tidy Town Committee would like to thank all those who helped in the clean-up on Wednesday night last and also those who tidied up in the hurling field area. A special thanks to the residents of ST Joseph’s Tce who displayed great community spirit in their area ‘well done’. We will have another clean-up tonight (Wednesday) at 7.30pm, meeting at the Old School, Urlingford.

KNOCK SUMMER FESTIVAL - Knock Summer Festival is taking place on July 28. It is a free event for all people between the ages of 17 and 30 years. CERTIFICATE IN THEOLOGICAL STUDIES - This course aims to provide general Theological Education and formation in the main aspects of faith aimed at those who are interested in lay involvement and leadership roles at parish and diocesan level. The course duration is 100hrs part time for over one academic year from September 2012 to May 2013. GRAINE HALL DEVELOPMENT - A public meeting to discuss the future development of Graine hall will take place on Tuesday night, June 19 at 8pm. We encourage as many people as possible to attend. People are also invited to the hall for refreshments after the cemetery Mass in Graine on Friday, June 22. This will be our final opportunity to use the hall for development work taking place.

CEMETERY MASSES - The following arrangements have been made for our cemetery masses: Killahy, Thursday, June 21 at 7pm; Graine, Friday, June 22 at 7pm; Tubrid, Friday, June 29 at 7pm; The Mill Cemetery, Friday, July 6 at 7pm; Johnstown, Tuesday, July 17 at 7.30pm.

CORPUS CHRSIT PROCESSION - The Diocesan Corpus Christi Procession will take place on Sunday, June 24. The Procession will begin at St John’s church, Dublin Road, Kilkenny at 2.30pm and will proceed through the city to St Mary’s Cathedral to arrive approximately one hour later. People are asked to gather at St John’s at 2.15pm on the day.
