The Late Larry Fitzpatrick - Durrow/Cullohill Parish and surrounding parishes were saddened to hear of the sudden death of Larry Fitzpatrick Tubberboe. His died on Saturday August 11 in Midlands Regional Hospital Portlaoise having being sick for only one week. He was 84 years old and was the last surviving member of his family. He was pre deceased by his brothers Michael and Jim and his sister-in law Patty. He is survived by his nephews and his niece. His remains reposed at his home in Tubberboe and removal took place on Sunday evening to the Holy Trinity Church Durrow. Burial took place after Requiem Mass on Monday in Durrow cemetery. Larry was a keen hurler in his younger days and won many county titles with Cullohill. Deepest Sympathy is extended to the Fitzpatrick family on their sad loss.

Angling - Durrow/Cullohill parish anglers held a Pike fishing competition for the O’Duinn cup on Sunday. Winner was Mick Walsh, 2nd Tommy Coffey 3rd Ian Drennan.
