Hard fought victory for footballers

Senior Football - Muckalee’s Senior Footballers advanced to the County semi-final after a hard fought victory over a hard trying Kilmoganny side. Scores were hard to come by early on in the game with the opening score coming after twelve minutes, a pointed free from Colin McGrath and Muckalee went on to lead 0-8 to 0-2 at half time. Kilmoganny went on to dominate the early exchanges of the second half but the Muckalee defence held firm and added  two  fine goals.The first goal came from raiding wing back Mick Morrissey after a pass from Fionn Lawlor who had replaced the injured Robert Shore,the second came from Bryan Byrne after being put through by Colin McGrath. Kilmoganny  scored their goal with time running out to leave the final score 2-12 to 1-6 in favour of the Champions of last year. Sale of Work - Coon sale of work for 2012 will be held on Sunday 25th November at 2pm. Any donation of trees for the timber auction or any support or sponsorship is very welcome.

U-16 Football - Muckalee U-16 girls played Erins Own in Muckalee pitch on the Monday Bank holiday and gavc a very good account of themselves when winning by 10—7 to 0—1. This was many of the girls first competitive match and they played exceptionally well right from the start. Team: Cliona Quirke, Roisin Kealy, Aoife Coady, Marian Morrissey, Amy Nolan, Katie Nolan, Aine Murphy, Miriam Bambrick, Roisin Coady, Eimear Shortall, Anna Healy, Helema Dowd, Ciara Malone, Kate Geoghan.

Ballyfoyle Pastoral Committee - The committee will meet on this Thursday at 8pm. All involved and those who would like to get involved in organising the senior citizens Christmas Party are welcome.
