Ballyhale: Sponsorship needed for senior team

Shamrocks - The Shamrocks GAA Club would like wish their senior team the best of luck in the upcoming Senior County Final. They would like to thank their main sponsors, Holden Plant Rentals and all the other companies and persons who continue to support the club every year. The club would greatly appreciate any sponsorship that members and supporters would be willing to donate (large or small). Please contact the Club Chairman, Secretary or any committee member. Meanwhile the task in hand is to actually become the Kilkenny champions. The media and neutrals would love to see a gallant, youthful Dicksboro team overcome the Shamrocks in a ‘good for hurling’ kind of way. A County Final is a County Final though and there is no point in getting to one without going all out to win it!

Club Shop - Please contact the Club Secretary (Sean O’ Sullivan / 086-1721692) to enquire about the full range of club gear, jersies and hats (woollen & baseball) which are available to order. They have ‘beanie’ and baseball hats from next week. Flags and jersies are also available now.

Holdens - Paul and Catherine Holden actually gave up a day’s racing to see the senior club they sponsor come through the Kilkenny senior championship semi-final. What they missed was a victory for one of their horses – ‘Alf Wright’ down in Wexford. The horse, as with all the Holden’s horses was trained by Eoin Doyle. They have had several victories in the last few months with various different racehorses.

Southend United - U-13 soccer: The lads kicked off their league campaign with a home game against Newpark last Saturday. The first ten minutes remained scoreless until John Shorthall got on the end of an Eoin Cody pass to finish to the net. Eoin added a second after a super passing move through midfield and the score remained 2-0 at half time. The lads picked up where they left off in the first half with Eoin Cody adding a third with a twenty yard thunderbolt and Eoin went on to complete his hat trick later in the game with a low strike. Adam Masood also got on the score sheet with a header after a clever corner kick and although Newpark pulled two goals back the damage was done and the score finished 5-2.
