Cross Border Punch Up - Tickets for the White Collar Boxing Event between Gortnahoe Glengoole GAA and Emeralds GAA club which takes place in the Newpark Hotel on Saturday the 2nd of March are now on sale from all the local pubs/shops and Post Office. Tickets are €20 and this includes the after show disco and bar extension. This promises to be a hugely entertaining night and tickets are expected to sell out fast so make sure you don’t miss out. Launch Night & Table Quiz - Both clubs will be holding this event in Mary Willies Pub on Friday night at 9.30pm. Table of 4 is €20. On the night both clubs will be revealing their fighters and no doubt there will be plenty of speculation regarding the match ups and possible winners as both teams get down to serious training over the coming weeks. The match ups will be announced at a special ‘Weigh-in night’ in Doyle’s Pub Urlingford nearer to the event.

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity - Will commence on this Friday January 18th. The annual Ecumenical Service for Christian Unity will be held in Gortnahoe Church on Sunday January 27th at 7.00. All are welcome.
Bereavement- The death occurred of Mrs. Catherine (Kitty) Ryan, St. Annes Tce., Gortnahoe, on Monday January 7th. Kitty is deeply missed by her husband Seanie,daughters,Kathleen, Margaret, Sharon, Martina, Lorraine and son Richard, brothers,sisters,brothers-in-law,sisters-in-law, nephews,nieces relatives and friends, Removal took place from her home to The Sacred Heart Church, Gortnahoe on Wednesday for Requim Mass followed by burial in Good Shepherd Cemetery. May she rest in peace.
