Graig: GAA club holds AGM

G.A.A. CLUB - The annual general metting of the Graig G.A.A. Club will take place at the Clubrooms will be held onSaturday 19th January. Following their first year back in Junior rank since their famous victory over the Emeralds in 1972 last years results were disappointing and hopes are high that the decline can be halted and that the clubs fortunes can be transformed. It is hoped that there will be a big turnout at this years meeting to put into place the structures neccessary.

LOTTO - Another year has dawned and yet no sign of the £10,000 being won in the local lotto draw.The reserve jacpot is climbing steadily and the big question now is what happens if the reserve jacpot reaches £10,000. Will there be two separate draws each week. Last week consolation winners were H. Murphy, Marian O’Neill, Sheamus Murphy Rosie Gahan and The Manning Brothers.

LADIES FOOTBALL CLUB - Following the annual general meeting of the Barrow Gaels football club the following were elected to plan the clubs fortunes for the coming year.Chairperson, Joe Fox, Hon Sec, Ger O’Reilly,Registrar Marcella Savage, Child Welfare Officer, Catherine Lanigan, Joint PRO Ricky Proctor ,Carmel Moore and Joe Fox. County Board Delegate Ger O’Reilly, Committee, Caroline Cleere, Rebecca Flood, Margaret Ryan and Denise Brooks.

GOLFING SOCIETY - Following another succesful year in which all the outing were well attended the golfing society will hold its annual general meeting at Duiske College on Friday 25th January.This is an opportunity for the membership to express their views and hopefully make recomendations that will add to the stature of the Society. The meeting starts at 8pm ant members are reminded that motions should be handed in to the Secretary on or before 15th January.
