SCHOOL HURLING - The first match of the Roinn B Schools Hurling League took place last Wednesday away to Callan CBS. On a bright but chilly day the ‘Bridge side produced a cool calculated performance, showing that all the hard work at training was paying off.

In effect this game was over at half time, but to their credit, Callan continued to try and take the game to Bennettsbridge and at the start of the second period had the ‘Bridge pinned in their own half. However the Bennettsbridge side weathered this storm and again took control of the game, and went on to win with plenty to spare.

From a ‘Bridge perspective it was pleasing to see the results of all the training come to the fore, the excellent team play, the mature decision making, support for each other and giving their all, right to the end. Another notable factor was the contribution of the whole panel, from one to twenty-one. There will be tougher assignments, but to get off to a winning start is always nice.

Next match is at home to Tullogher/Rosbercon on 10th April at 4pm.

Panel
