Late Liam Toohey - The death occurred of Liam Toohey, Glengoole on Sunday, March 17. Liam who is pre-deceeased by his son Liam is deeply missed by his wife Phil, sons Aiden and John, daughters Maria, Clare and Carmel, grandchildren great grandchildren, sisters, son-in-law, daughters-in-law, nephews, nieces, relatives and friends. Removal took place on Tuesday for requiem mass to St Patrick and Oliver Church, Glengoole. Burial took place in St Patrick’s Cemetery, Thurles immediately afterwards.
Late Nellie Walsh - The death occurred of Nellie Walsh, Boulick, Gortnahoe at Nazareth House, Mallow on Sunday, March 17. Nellie, daughter of the late Michael and Kathleen and sister of Kitty, Mary and the late Margaret, John and Jimmy is deeply regretted by her loving sisters, niece Kathleen, nephew Pat, brother-in-law Donie, relatives and friends. Removal was to St Patrick and Oliver Church, Glengoole. Requiem Mass was on Wednesday followed by burial in adjoining cemetery.
Eucharistic Adoration - Adoration will not take place this Spy Wednesday and Holy Thursday. After Easter, Adoration will continue as usual.
Annual Chrism Mass - Will take place in the Cathedral, Thurles on Wednesday night at 7.30pm.
Gortnahoe Folk Choir practice - Will be held on this Wednesday at 8pm. A special invitation is extended to extra singers, male and female, for these Holy Week and Easter Masses.
Easter Ceremonies - Holy Thursday Mass of The Lord’s Supper in both Churches at 8pm. Please bring Trocaire contributions in notes if possible. Procession to Altar of Repose at the end of Mass,followed by Confessions. Holy Hour in Gortnahoe or Glengoole from 10 to 11am.
Good Friday: Day of Fast and Abstinence. Ceremonies in both Churches at 3pm including The Passion, Adoration of the Cross and Holy Communion. Stations of the Cross in both Churches at 7.30pm. A collection will be taken up at both ceremonies for The Holy Places. Confessions at the end.
Holy Saturday: Confessions in Glengoole at 12.00 and Gortnahoe at 12.30 Vigil Ceremonies and Easter Mass at 9.00 in both Churches. no Mass at 6.30. or 7.45.
Easter Sunday: Easter Masses Glengoole at 10.00 and Gortnahoe at 11.45.
Priests Collection - The Easter Clergy Collection will be taken up on Easter week-end. The usual collectors are asked to attend.
Juvenile GAA Club - Will hold their Easter Camp from April 2 - 4. Anyone not yet registered please contact Maeve Maher at 087 7986615 or Jim Lanigan at 087 9076702. Cost per child is €20. This camp is open to all primary school children.
Bingo - Support special bingo night with €2,500 in prizes this Friday, March 29 at the usual time.
