MICHAELMAS FESTIVAL - The AGM of the Tinnahinch Michaelmas Festival will be held at the Scout Hall on Thursday 4th April at 8pm.There is an open invitation for anyone wishing to help out in any way to attend . The comittee is alwys on the look for new ideas to add to the enjoyment of what by now is an important event on the social calendar.

LOTTO - Last weeks numbers were 6.21.24.& 31. Tthere was no winner of the jackpot which is now worth £8,900. Consolation winners were Pat McDonald, Ann Kelly, Bid Flood, Jimmy O’ Brien and the BDJ Dancers.

BARROW GAELS - The barrow Gaels Ladies football club got their season underway by taking part in the Leinster Inter County Club blitz in Carlow 9th March .This was a competition for the Under 11 girls and teams from thomastown, St. Mullins Na Fianna, Meath ,St Patricks Wicklow and Leixlip provided the opposition on a bitterly cold day. The panel of players who took part were , Lea Doyle, Ciana Cushen, Brid O’Dwyer, Holly Carroll, Aoife Doyle, Aoife Cosgrave, Paige Foley, Holly Brooks, Aishling Prendergast, Eimer Holden, Ali Flood, Jessica McDonald, Sarah Byrne, Chloe Kennedy and Niamh Fogarty. Congratulations to all the girls and their mentors foe their performances.

TEDDY DUFF RIP - The tragic death of 57-year old Teddy Duff following a work accident at his home in Ballyogan was greeted with untold grief and sadness in the community. Teddy was one of the guiding lights in the community devoting his time and energy to the regatta committee and the building and successful ongoing success of the Boathouse project. His enthusiasm was infectious and no barrier caused him any problems .The esteem with which he was held in was evident in the large attendance at hie removal from Walsh’s Funeral Home and at the internment at Calvary Cemetery. Sincerest sympathy is extended to his grieving family.
