Senior Hurling - On Sunday, March 17 Tullaroan seniors had their first outing of the year against a good Erins Owen team. Erins Owen came out of the blocks quicker and led at half time with the score at 0-6 to 0-14.Tullaroan put in a much stronger effort after the break and played with a bit of spirit. Unfortunately they came up a little bit short with a score line of 2-12 to 1-20. Tullaroan Club Gear - Tullaroan club jerseys, hoodies, shorts, t-shirts, kit bags etc will be on sale in the club rooms on Friday, March 29 between 2 and 4.30pm.
U10 & U16 HuRLING - On Monday, March 18 the Tullaroan U-16 hurling team played a challenge game against a good Thomastown team in the Tullaroan sports grounds. It was a superb game with Tullaroan looking the bit stronger in the first half, even with a strong wind. They led 1-8 to 0-5 at half time. Although they struggled in the second half they held their own with a score line of 1-15 to 3-8.

The U-10’s also had their first outing on Monday, March 18 against James Stephens. Teams were divided into 2 as per go games rules. Team A - Gearoid Dunne, Bill Walton, Eamon Og Holland, Billy Keogh, James Walton, Killian Norton, Liam Walsh. Team B - Niall Holland, James Cash, Paul Og Mulligan, Adam Coyne, Padraig O’Mahony, Tomas Dillon, Josh Tallis, also helped out were Richard Cash and Brendan Walsh. There was great hurling on display despite the winter conditions and with both Tullaroan teams on winning sides.
Cabaret - Tullaroan Bord na nOg will hold a cabaret in Connolly’s Lounge on Easter Sunday night and your support would be very much appreciated.
Mass of Chrism - On Wednesday, March 27, Mass of Chrism will be celebrated in St Mary’s Cathedral, James Street, Kilkenny commeicing at 7.30pm and all are welcome.
Whist Drive - A whist drive will be held on Wednesday, March 27 in the Tullaroan Community Centre commencing at 8.45pm. Proceeds to Tullaroan Bord na nOg.
Tullaroan Golf Society - The first outing of 2013 will take place at the Rathdowney Golf Club on Saturday, April 6 from 9am to 10am. Prize’s will be presented in Connolly’s Lounge on the evening of 6th.
Home Visits - Fr Patsy Guilfoyle, PP will visit the homebound on Good Friday at the usual times.
Mount Brandon Climb - A big thanks to local publican John Connolly who organised a very successful climb of Mount Brandon, Kerry last Saturday. Thanks to all who sponsored the climbers as over €9.000 was raised for the charity in which two local men Seamus Purcell and Eamon Holland are involved. Tom Maher, Currach, Tullaroan was the bus driver for the weekend.
Tullaroan Active Retirement Association - The group will meet in the Tullaroan Community Centre on Wednesday, March 27 at 2pm. The members are going to see a performance of the Pirates of Penzance in the Watergate Theatre on Sunday, April 7. Please contact Lily on 056 7769162 before March 27 if you are interested in going. Tommy and Martin Line Out WITH Kilkenny - Brother’s Tommy and Martin Walsh, Mountgale played with the Kilkenny senior hurling team who defeated Clare in the Allianz Hurling League in Ennis last Sunday. Both men gave a very good account of themselves.
