HURLING - Due to the inclement weather last weekend, the junior A hurlers’ opening game of the season with Lisdowney was cancelled. The game has been refixed for this Friday evening at 5.30 p.m., once again in Lisdowney.

The minor hurlers, who were also due to play their first game in the Roinn B league against Danesfort on Monday evening in Jenkinstown, will now be in action on Monday next against Galmoy/Windgap at 6.30pm

CAMOGIE - Conahy Shamrocks Camogie club hold a clothes recycling collection in the Polo Grounds on Saturday, April 6th. All clothing material can be taken and must be delivered between 10 a.m. and 12 p.m. Your support is greatly appreciated.

SOCIAL DANCING & VINTAGE CLUB - The next Social Dancing night in the GAA Clubhouse takes place on Saturday, April 6th. Conahy Vintage Club will also hold a presentation to local charities from funds raised from their recent Vintage Rally on that night.

COUCH TO 5K CHALLENGE - The 5k fun run/walk due to take place on March 9th last was cancelled as a mark of respect to the sad passing of Mrs Kit Lacey. R.I.P. The run will now take place on April 6th. It will start from the Polo Grounds at 2.30 p.m. All donations received on the day will go towards Carlow/Kilkenny Homecare team.

Under 14 participants must be under parental supervision at all times.

LADIES FOOTBALL - The ladies football team were saddened by the passing of fellow team mate Sinead Woodward. Sinead passed away peacefully on Wednesday night. She was an active member of the football club and the Book Club until her illness. She was a fun loving person and will be sorely missed. Sympathy is extended to her husband Anthony and her sons Callum and Luke. Ar dheis De go raibh a hanam.

LOTTO RESULTS - The numbers in the recent Conahy Shamrocks GAA Club Lotto draw were 9, 26 and 32. There was no jackpot winner so the consolation prize winners were Kieran Mooney & Padraig Hally, Caitriona Carroll, Toddy Lacey, Avril Hetherington and Oliver Dunne. The promoters’ prize winners were Catherine Carroll, Julie Jackman and Declan Downey. This week’s jackpot now stands at €5,800.

HERITAGE SOCIETY - The Last Rose of Summer Bicentenary celebration concert organised by Conahy Heritage Society takes place on Saturday June 22nd at 8 p.m. in Jenkinstown Park, with Anthony Kearns. CAKE SALE - A big thank you goes to everyone who helped out at and attended the cake sale at St. Colman’s N.S., Conahy on Sunday last. A total of €763 was raised for Conahy Community Playgroup. Winners in the raffle for Easter eggs, cakes and chocolates were Anne Cahill, Helen Devane, Chloe Leahy, Breda kavanagh, Oisin Conroy and Helen Murphy.

CONAHY COMMUNITY PLAYGROUP - Conahy Community Playgroup is now enrolling for September 2013. Children who are aged between 2 year and 6 months and 4 years old can apply. Children who are due to start Primary School in September 2014 are also entitled to a free preschool year (ECCE Scheme). If your child does not yet qualify for the ECCE scheme, he/she may qualify for a subsidized rate under the CCS scheme.
