SCHOOLS CAMOGIE - It was a busy week on the under age scene. The schools team met St John of Gods on Thursday evening in a qualifier match to decide who plays who in the Quarter Finals. Eimear Walsh opened the scoring with a point, but then the city team took control and popped over two goals and three points before Lisdowney’s Amy Dunphy scored a goal. Half time score 2:3 to 1:1. Again St John’s were in control when they took to the pitch after the break, and were another two goals and a point up on 4:5 before the Lisdowney women decided they had had enough. They upped their game and kept St John’s scoreless for the remainder of the half while Eimear Walsh produced another 2:1 with Amy Dunphy and Emma McEvoy both scoring a goal. These young girls were outstanding, and such a come back. They finished up level pegging. So well done girls.

Team: Rhea Grace Cashin, Mairead Kennendy, Ashling Phelan, Chloe Mullins, Ellen O’Carroll, Emma McEvoy, Holly Moore, Laura O’Sullivan, Claire O’Carroll, Eimear Walsh, Amy Dunphy, Aoibheann Murphy.

UNDER 14 CAMOGIE - The Under 14 team were out on Friday against Tullaroan. This was a low scoring match with the full size pitch allowing for bunching in the goals as the ball tended to stay in the same half for extended lengths of time. Tullaroan scored a goal in the first half and Aoife O’Carroll scored two points for Lisdowney which wasn’t enough to win.

MINOR HURLING - The minors met Mullinavat on Monday, 6th May 2012. This was a class match - very close with some great hurling from both sides. At the break it was level, in fact, the sides levelled seven times throughoutthe match. It finished 3:16 to 3:14 for Lisdowney. For full match report check out the website www.lisdowney,
