Birthday celebrations for popular T J Kane

birthday-Last Saturday night the amazing T J Kane celebrated his 18th Birthday at the Ouncel House. I use the word Amazing because ‘though T J was born with special needs his achievements in life have been extraordinary. Blessed as he was to be born to strong and loving parents, Agnes & Toss Kane, T J learned to cope with his situation until he was of age to attend the wonderful O’Neill Centre in Kilkenny. He then progressed to the National School in Gowran and then onto Grennan College, Thomastown where this year he is sitting his Leaving Certificate Exam. I think that makes him an amazing young man. Being confined to a wheelchair never stopped him from joining in the craic and his happy smile and good humour made him welcome everywhere. That was very evident on Saturday when everyone young, old and inbetween gathered around to help him celebrate his special night. Having blown out the candles on his Birthday Cake T J Swung into action on the dance floor. Oh yes! Like any 18yr old with a set of powerful wheels under him T J burned some rubber !
