Huge programme for annual regatta

REGATTA - This years regatta will take place on the weekend of August 4th/5th/6th. the three day event will include all the usual and traditional water sports as well as a some new and entertaining programmes.On the Saturday there will be a river festival which will include longboat trips, a Viking camp, kayaking standup paddling, boat building display, archery, bouncy castle and face painting for the kidsfollowed by a barbecue and music in the evening. The traditional regatta will be held on the Sunday with cot racing, diving and swimming competitions and the gruelling Rope across the River.. The now very popular Rowing Regatta takes place on the Monday with crews from throughout the Country pitting their skills against the Mighty Barrow.The Iron Man competitions for senior and junior entries will also take place on Monday.All we have to do now is wait expectantly to see what kind of weather the Almighty Olympian bless all the best laid plans with.

LOTTO - The £10,000 jacckpot prize in the local lotto is continuing to elude the participants in the draw with no one succeeding in matching last weeks drawn numbers which were,20,24,26,27. LLIBRARY NEWS - The annual tourist information stand is on display at the libraryand those wishing to promote business ventutes are invited to call and discuss any items of interest. There are also computer classes for beginners with no charrge where learners will be taught how to send emails use the internet and all other aspects of computer work Classes take place on Tuesdays from 10am to 12 noon and in the afternoon between 2pm and 4pm. The CRAFTY CREW meet in the library on Wednesdaymorning from 10.30am and 12.30pm where they practice their crafts and enjoy a social few hours with a cuppa.
