GAA - Very little to report on the GAA front with the senior Inter County team preparing for their clash with Limerick in the All Ireland semi final in Thurles next Sunday local games of note have ground to a halt. Some results in the last week saw the special jnr A team have a good win over a Tullogher selection on a scoreline of Mullinavat 3-15 to Tullogher 1-8 while the minor hurlers had a narrow 2 point win against a Windgap/Galmoy selection on a score line of Mullinavat 4-14 to Windgap/Galmoy 4-12. The intermediate team had a challenge against Waterford senior outfit Passage last Sunday and managed to come away with a slender win. The team continue their preparations for a crunch game in the 5th round of the league championship against the Rower Inistioge. This game could see the winners qualify for a shield final and secure a passage to the latter stages of the championship.
RELIC OF ST PHILOMENA - The relic of St Philomena will be visiting our parish this week. The relic will be on display in the Mullinavat Parish Church Hall from 7.30pm next Friday evening the 27th July
YOUNG AT HEART - The local young at heart club which caters for the elderly of our parish will go on one of their outings on Thursday 2nd of August. This is a kind of magical mystery tour with the location top secret. For those wishing to travel names should be given to Bridgid Haberlin or Pinkie Tobin on or before the 23rd of July. All is needed after that is the fine weather
SUMMER COMPUTER CAMP 4 KIDS - A summer camp for kids is being run by Mullinavat Computer Services where children can explore the fun that can be had with these machines. This is a great opportunity to get you children up to speed on computer usage and as these machines are so relevant in our daily working lives it is never too young to start. ST JOSEPHS YOUNG PRIESTS SOCIETY - The St Josephs young priest’s society will hold their next meeting in the sacristy on the 30th of July at 10.30am. As always new recruits and members are invited to attend.
COMMUNITY LOTTO - The community lotto prize fund stays intact and increases due to the fact that there were no match 4 winner. There were 4 people who managed to pick 3 numbers and won themselves a small cash prize.
