All-Ireland medal for Zahra

Nine-year-old Zahra Khodabacksh from Bennettsbridge came third in the All-Ireland Gymnastic competition under-11 category.

Nine-year-old Zahra Khodabacksh from Bennettsbridge came third in the All-Ireland Gymnastic competition under-11 category.

Zahra also achieved the highest score on the floor, scoring 11.55.

Zahra is a member of the Naas Panther Gymnastic Club. She has had a very successful year, coming first in all her other competitions and winning the overall performance in the Portlaoise under-11 competition.

The young gymnast is the daughter of proud parents Yvonne and Hussain, and the great-grand daughter of Sean and Julia Kennedy Grovine, who love seeing her bring home countless medals.

Zahra also dances with the Evelyn White School of Dancing, and recently took part in the World Dancing Competition, coming ninth in the Figures under-10 and sixth in the under-14.
