CARD PLAYERS STILL TURNING UP TRUMPS - The weekly card game in the village hall is still flourishing. More than thirty dedicated card players gather in the hall every Thursday night to test their skills and perhaps collect some of the prizemoney on offer. Now ! Prizemoney is not the attraction for many of the players, but the social interaction, winning a few games , having the craic, and of course the sociable cup of tea and biscuits. This social event has been run and managed by volunteers from the area for over twenty years and their committment has to be recognised and praised. A gathering together of like minded people is very important, especially in rural areas. Let it be known that there is always a welcome at this card game for anyone who enjoys an honest game of 25’s. If you don’t have a playing partner, one will be provided, so come along and join in the fun. Game starts at 9 pm every Thursday.and entry is E10.
