Good win for juniors

HURLING - The minor hurlers enjoyed a successful weekend when they defeated St. Martin’s and win out the club’s minor hurling tournament, which was run successfully over the summer. The locals enjoyed the better of the exchanges in the opening half, and led by 2-6 to 0-6 at the break. The second half was a more even affair with both sides sharing the scoring spoils. In the end, Conahy continued to hold their two-goal advantage, winning 2-12 to 0-12. Following the game, team captain Eoin Coogan was presented with the tournament trophy by Billy Hennessy, Bórd na n-Óg vice-chairman. Sincere thanks to Carroll’s Garage, Ballyragget, for their sponsorship of the tournament once again.
