MAST - The ESB have applied for planning permission to construct a 30 metre high mast with 38kv voltage in Urlingford Business Park. Recent studies link high voltage power lines with brain tumours, cancer, leukemia and birth defects. This is a serious matter affecting all families in the Parish. A meeting took place last night (Tuesday) to discuss the problems associated with the erection of high voltage power lines. It is important that you make your concerns known. WHIST DRIVE - Next whist drive in St Mary’s Hall, Johnstown is this Friday night, October 5. Doors open at 8.30pm. Proceeds in aid of the Neil Mellon Building Fund requested by Gerry Fogarty.

ADORATION - Exposition and Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament will take place in Urlingford next Friday, October 5 from 2.30pm to 5.30pm. You are invited to come along and spend some time with Our Lord in the Blessed Sacrament.

LOCATION OF DEFIBRILATOR - While Graine Hall is being redeveloped the defibrillator will be located in the Church Sacristy. Key holders are Ann Pembroke, Canon Dunphy, Helen Healy, Fr. O. Maher.

CARE TO DRIVE - This is a volunteer delivered transport initiative in which the Irish Cancer Society recruits and trains volunteer drivers to transport cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment to and from their hospital appointments. We are currently looking for volunteers to drive patients to and from Waterford Regional Hospital. The service is free to both the patient and the hospital with the Irish Cancer Society incurring all costs. 
 Volunteers use their own cars and the Irish Cancer Society pays drivers for their fuel, all tolls and offer E8 per trip towards some food/drink (receipted). For more information please call Gail on 01 2310566 or email transport@irishcancer.ie.
