Womens’ Guild - Ballyhale Womens’ Guild are holding their Senior Citizens Christmas Party in Carroll’s Hotel on Sunday 16 December at 2pm. All are welcome but please give your name to any member of the Womens’ Guild before 14 December.
Scoil Aireagail - Scoil Aireagail presents ‘An evening of Music and Song’ in the Carmelite Friary, Knocktopher on Wednesday 12 December at 8pm. Proceeds on the night go towards the St. Vincent de Paul. Your support would be greatly appreciated. Admission on the door Adults €5 and children €2.
Tractor Run - A second memorial Tractor run for Martin Duggan and Sean Malone has been organized by their family and friends. The run is due to take place on 30 December and registration is at 11am in Ballyhale Hall with departure at 12. Last year’s was a huge run and it is hoped that this year’s will be as large. A Facebook page has been set up by Breena Duggan and Paul Holden to register your interest.
Darts - A third annual memorial Darts tournament in memory of TJ O’Farrell is due to be held on Thursday 27 December in Andy’s Bar, Ballyhale. Entries should be in by 3pm with a draw being made at 4pm. The competition costs €10 to enter and is open to players and non-players, male or female, local or stranger. All proceeds will be donated to the charity AWARE. After the games there will be music by John Joe and Richie and all are welcome.
Parents Association - The Ballyhale Parents Association held a Christmas Craft Fair in the Parochial Hall on Saturday afternoon last. The fair was an opportunity for local producers to showcase their talents and goods and take orders for Christmas. All the proceeds of the Christmas Fair go directly towards the local national school and your support and generosity was greatly appreciated.
BDA - The Ballyhale Development Association turning on of Christmas Tree lights was held on Saturday 8 Dec after 7.30 pm Mass. The Children’s choir were present for carol singing to the large crowd who gathered for the event.
Southend - Southend United held a table quiz last Saturday night in Andy’s. It was well supported both by raffle prize donations from Carroll’s Hotel, Martin Ryan and many others and by the attendance of many teams of four. There were 10 rounds of 6 questions composed by Club Chairman Michael O’Sullivan, who was the main organizer of the event. Several teams competed for the top spot with Lenny Reid’s team taking it by a single mark at the end. Noreen Malone was second with Mickey O’Keeffe’s team third. All three winning teams generously donated their prize fund back to the club when the Chairman explained what the club is hoping to do in the forthcoming year.
Congratulations - Congratulations to Shamrocks Club Chairman Michael Fennelly who celebrated a significant Birthday when a surprise party was organized for him on Saturday night in Sheff’s.
Best Wishes - Best wishes to a very well know Knockmoylan man who is currently recovering following a very serious operation in recent weeks! We all wish him a full and speedy recovery.
