GAA News - After the glamour of Croke Park last week Clara’s Senior & Minor Footballers were in action and to continue on the success of the hurlers both teams won. The Clara Minors beating Kilmacow 2-7 to 1-14. The Clara Seniors beat Mooncoin 2-6 to 1-3. Ciarán Prendergast opening the scoring with a point before Mooncoin leveled from a free. Liam Ryan then scored a free before Mooncoin got their first score from play. Clara got the last score of the half from Ciarán Prendergast. The half time score Clara 0-3 Mooncoin 0-2. Clara started the scoring in the second half with a point from Kevin Nolan. Mooncoin responded with a goal to take the lead. Liam Ryan leveled the game with Clara’s 5 point and Kevin Nolan followed this with a well worked goal. The move starting in the Clara back line with some well worked passes. Mooncoin at this stage weren’t going to lye down and responded with a point. Mooncoin Started to pile on the pressure and with some great defending by the Clara defence and a good save by Brian Prendergast in the Clara goal only kept the game from getting any closer. With Mooncoin all out attacking Clara broke again with some good passing, the ball snaking its way up the field to Tom Ryan. Who took on the Mooncoin defence and let go a powerful shot to find the net. James Nolan finished the scoring in this game with a nicely taken point. The final score Clara 2-6 Mooncoin 1-3.

Presentation Dinner Dance - This Friday the 22nd of February Clara GAA club will be holding a medal presentation dinner in Langtons at 8pm. After winning the Intermediate League, County Final, Leinster Club Final, All Ireland Club Final, Junior Hurling League, Intermediate Football County Final and U21 Camogie final there’s a bag full of medals to present. All silverware won in 2012 and 2013 will be on display. This is an all ticket event and tickets for the night will be €10 which includes dinner and music by Pat Tracey and are available from any committee member (phone numbers can be found on www.clara.kilkenny.gaa.ie).
Upcoming training courses - The following course is coming up in the near future for all trainers: 23rd of March ABC (Agility, Balance, Coordination) Course will take place in the GAA Grounds. Anybody interested in these courses please contact Eamonn Rafter or Gerry Farrell.
Club Membership - Over the next few weeks members of the executive committee will be around to collect membership for this year. All support very much appreciated and new members are always welcome.

Well done - Congratulations to Conor Phelan, Blanchville, Dunbell. Conor was the victorious manager of W.I.T camogie team that won the Ashbourne Cup last Sunday beating UL by a single point in a thrilling game that went to extra time twice!

Well done to Christopher Bolger, who is a member of St. Kierans College Senior hurling team on reaching the Leinster final.
