Kilmacow Soccer Club - It was another wash-out weekend as far as our league teams were concerned as matches for our Under 12, Under 14 and Div.1B teams were postponed due to the state of the pitch. Not so for our younger players however as the top field staged a match between our Under 11s and the Academy players. The academy boys are all in the 8 to 10 age range and this was the first time that they put on a Club jersey for a match. A big crowd of parents, grandparents, other relations and friends came along to witness a really entertaining match. The academy boys really gave it to the older boys in the first half as they tore into it from the kick off. Somehow it remained scoreless at half time. The Under 11s scored a few goals in the second half to give them the bragging rights at the end of the match. However, the academy boys will point out that as they had 19 players the necessary changes disrupted their play. Nonetheless it was very important that all the boys present got to play for as long as possible. There were some very impressive performances from the academy boys but it would be unfair to pick out a few. They all id well and deserve to have their names in print. Managers Rob Fenton and Neil Foot have organised a few friendly matches in the coming weeks for the boys.

ACADEMY: Evan Walsh, Callum Regan, Paddy Regan, Daniel Breathnach, Ciaran Murray, James Foot, Josh Fenton, Nicholas Cass, Nick Kleijn, Sean Dowling, Joe Roche, Jack O’Neill, Ted Doyle, Ryan Cummins, Fionn Walsh, Sam Duggan, Tadhg Connolly, Adam Thompson, Lorcan Suffin.
