WATERCOLOUR WORKSHOP - The workshop will be held in Cois Abhainn, Inistioge on Saturday, May 18. It will run from 2 to 5pm and the fee is €30. The subject for the afternoon is HENS! so it should be fun. Some experience with watercolours is preferable but beginners are welcome too. 1st Prize goes to Ballavarra - Congratulations to the Whelan Family in Ballavarra, The Rower, winners of the first Prize of €1000 in the April Monthly development draw, 2nd Prize of €500 went to Christina Aspel of Oldcourt, Inistioge, The winning ticket was sold by Michael Lyng & John Dunphy with second prize ticket being sold by Michael Holden.

Tickets are available for the monthly draw from any Committee member of the GAA Club or Inistioge Community Council or Camogie Club. Tickets cost €10 per month with a guaranteed prize fund of €2,000 each month. Proceeds from the draw are used exclusively to fund recent development work completed in Inistioge and The Rower.
GOLF CLASSIC - The Rower/Inistioge Golf Classic takes place on May 9 at New Ross Golf Club. This very successful Golf Classic has made a very significant financial contribution to costs of the building of the Parish Community Centre, Cois Abhainn for many years.
The presentation of prizes will be hosted by the ever popular Micheal O’Muircheartaigh, and the ceol agus craic afterwards with local group, The Hatchery Folk. There is an open invitation to everyone in the parish to attend at 9 to 9.30pm.
ICA - The County Federation annual general meeting was hosted by the local guild and held in Cois Abhann on April 11. There was a large attendance of ladies from the various guilds in the county and all were very impressed by our wonderful facility.
Guest speaker was David Gray who gave a very informative talk on Drug Awareness and Information reminding us to be vigilant with our children and grandchildren. The local ICA AGM will take place in Cois Abhann on Tuesday, May 7 at 7.30pm. We invite ladies to join us. Just drop in and you will be most welcome.
INISTIOGE CLASSIC CAR RUN - A classic car run in memory of Dick Bailey will take place this Sunday, May 5. Sign in is from 11.30 to 12.30 up from the square in the village.
The 70 mile run will start outside O’Donnell’s bar at 12.30pm, finishing back in Inistioge at approximately 4.30pm with refreshments in Lenehans bar.
The entry fee is €10 and all ages and types of car are most welcome. All monies raised will go towards the Nore Valley Athletics Club.
