Inter Society Golf - The Kate O’Grady Golf Society travelled to Gowran on Saturday last to take part in the Inter society golf competition. Winners of the Competition were. 1st Place Bennettsbridge. 2nd Goresbridge. 3rd Ballyhale. 4th Stoneyford. 5th Graiguenamanagh and 6th Thomastown.
Arthritis News - The newly established Arthritis Ireland Kilkenny Branch will host its first information evening in September on how to get started with exercise and stay motivated as part of Arthritis Irelands “Movings the best medicine” campaign. This admission free event will take place in the City Suite of Hotel Kilkenny on September at 7.30pm featuring a number of expert speakers including Lorna Raggett, Senior Occupational Therapist who will present on the role of the Occupational Therapist and patient education in lifestyle management and Caitriona Corr Development officer with Kilkenny recruitment and Sports partnership. It promises to be a fun and informative event.
Stagedoor - Stagedoor classes return this Thursday evening for five to sevens from 7pm to 7.45 and for ten to 14yrs at 7.45. Next Monday its the turn of the eight and nine year olds at 7pm and fourteen plus at 8pm.

Time Out for Women - This is a social and educational project for Women in Callan and its hinterland that provides training on a wide range of informational and practical topics. Some of the subjects that will be covered include: Calligraphy, Woodwork for Beginners, Financial Advice Workshop(MABS), Christmas Flower arranging, Stress Management (relaxation), Job Search work shop (VEC), Dietician Workshop (Health Promotion Unit), Pilates, Fitness for women & Computers. This programme will be run 2 days per week over 10 weeks. It will run every Wednesday and Thursday (school term) from 9.30am to 12.30pm. The course will begin Wednesday October 3 until Thursday December 13. There will be 16 people on the programme so places are limited.
