The campaign against the cuts to bus services in north Kilkenny and south Laois is to hold another meeting tomorrow (Thursday) night in the Castle Arms Hotel, Durrow at 8.30pm.

Recent meetings with Bus Eireann and the National Transport Authority will be discussed, along with the future of the bus service in the area. Public representatives will also be in attendance.

The recent decision by Bus Éireann to withdraw its Cork-Dublin service to Johnstown in Kilkenny, and Abbeyleix and Cullahill in Laois has condemned by local representatives, including county councillors and TDs. Locals say that the cuts will leave them without a public transport service and further isolates the rural community.
