St. John’s: Voting papers have been sent out

O’LOUGHLIN GAELS GAA CLUB A.G.M. ON DECEMBER 3 - Nomination papers for the AGM have been sent out this week to all fully paid up members of O’Loughlin Gaels GAA club by club secretary Margaret Hanlon which will take place on Monday December 10th .As per previous years members are asked to seek the consent of any person they may choose to nominate for any position on the executive committee before returning their nomination papers. Members are also encouraged to submit motions and amendments as they see fit, but, when doing so, to seek help with the articulation of same, regarding legislation within the constitution etc., before returning the forms.

CHRISTMAS CLUB SHOP IN O’LOUGHLINS - The christmas club shop is now open in O’Loughlin Gaels GAA club. On offer are Troy Polo and T Shirts (from €15), Roma Polo and T Shirts( from €15), official O’Loughlin Gaels togs and socks (from €4.50), a new style O’Loughlin Gaels “training jersey”(€25) in blue and green which should prove very popular, a new style O’Loughlin Gaels Aran jacket (€24) and a new style half zip track suit top (from 26.40), as well as kit bags (€22). There are also a limited number of official club ties and tie pins available at €20. All the merchandise available can be viewed on the O’Loughlin Gaels website www.oloughlingaels.gaa.ie or the club’s facebook page.Bryan Skehan and his team will be in the club between 8.30 and 9.30 on week nights in order to take orders.The final date for christmas orders is December 7th.

LOTTO STILL €20,000 - The biggest local club LOTTO jackpot prize pool is still on offer in O’Loughlin Gaels GAA club. The €20,000 grand prize can be claimed by matching the first four numbers out of the drum as well as the bonus number. An additional jackpot is being built up “behind the scenes” and this also is close to reaching the maximum allowed of €20,000. The weekly draw takes place in the O’Loughlin Gaels clubhouse every Tuesday night and all are welcome to attend. The numbers drawn on Tuesday 13th of November were 2, 14, 20, 27 and the bonus number was 12. There were ten consolation prizes of €40 each won by Sean Tyrrell c/o Gerry Tyrrell, Sophie and Sam c/o Sammy Geoghegan, Ritchie Walsh, Thomas Kiely c/o Pauline Greene, Joe Nolan, Jackie Tyrrell, Kieran Maher c/o Esther Maher, Ann Finnerty c/o John Phelan, Martin Treacy c/o JJ Cullen, Peg Kerwick c/o JJ Cullen.

DATE FOR YOUR DIARY IN JOHNSWELL - A choral concert will be held in Johnswell Church on Saturday 24th November to celebrate the installation of the Thomas Casson Positive Organ. A number of Kilkenny choirs will perform, and there will also be plenty of opportunity for the audience to join in well-known pieces. No cover charge, but a collection will be taken up for the Johnswell Choir and Organ Fund.

DATE SET FOR JIM O HARA MEMORIAL POKER TOURNAMENT - Thursday December 13th is the date that has been chosen for the 5thannual Jim O Hara memorial Texas Holdem Poker in O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club. Entry will cost €30 and a re buy of €20 is allowed up to and including break time if the player has lost all their chips. John Joe Cullen will supply finger food at break time . The Jim O Hara Memorial trophy has been won previously by Aiden O Hara (on 2 occasions) , Dick Shelly and last year by Willie Holden. Texas Holdem Poker tournaments have been running every Thursday Night in O’Loughlin Gaels GAA Club for over eight years now. Entry cost €30 and all are welcome . Registration is always before 8.30.

VOLUNTEER IN AFRICA - Humanitarian Volunteers are looking for volunteers to travel to East Africa in Feb 2013, for two weeks. Volunteers will pay their own costs. The group will also visit the grave Edel Quinn. Contact Denis – 086 8520271.

CHRISTMAS BAZAAR - A Monster Christmas Bazaar takes place in CBS Primary School, Stephen St, on Sunday the 2nd of December from 12pm to 4pm. Santa Claus will make an appearance to see the many local craft stallson show.There will be a raffle, Lots of games,plenty of cakes,buns and refreshments on sale. A great day out for all the family.
