This is a story of emigration that is still true to life today and the Ireland we live in. The play is funny and touching with a very professional cast. ALZHEIMER’S CENTRE - The centre has a facilitated support group, for carers of people with Alzheimer’s/Dementia. Providing a safe space for information exchange, emotional and practical support and the opportunity to network with other carers in similar positions.  Location: Alzheimer Day Care Centre, 1 Fr Walsh Close, Cootes Lane, Kilkenny (Behind the village Inn). CLUB IS FAMILY - Graigue Ballycallan G.A.A. Club A.G.M. will be held on Friday, 1 February. Mass for deceased members in Our Lady Queen of Peace Church, Kilmanagh will be at 7:30pm following by the A.G.M. in the Club rooms

All those interested in being involved including parents of juveniles and players are more than welcome. The meeting will last approximately one hour.       

ANNUAL WHIST DRIVE - Preparations are well under way for the upcoming Annual Whist Drive which is organised by friends and family on behalf of Fr Philip O’Halloran as a support for the Missionary work of the Mill Hill Missionaries for his work in Uganda and Kenya.  Fr Philip has worked in Uganda for over 21 years and the work was greatly enhanced with the support of the annual whist drive. Fr. Philip who is 25 years ordained this year is presently appointed to Luanda in Western Kenya. He runs a year’s residential programme together with the Mill Hill Sisters for those seeking to understand if they are being called to missionary priesthood or sister hood.
This year’s Whist Drive will be held on Wednesday, 6 February in Callan Parish Hall at 8.30pm.

There will be lots of prizes on the night for the whist and a raffle. Teas will be served. All donations or help in any way would be greatly appreciated.FREE ART PROJECT - a FREE creative art project for adults will begin on Wednesday, 20 February and will run for 3 Wednesday evenings. This project will involved working on a mural in Droicheád Childcare using all sorts of fabrics and textures to create a unique piece of work. To book a place please call 056 7755519, ext. 1.

CRAIC AGUS CEÓL - An open music, song and dance session will take place in The Friary, Callan every Friday afternoon for the older folk in Callan and surrounding areas. This session will begin on 8 February between 2pm and 4pm.

All are welcome to join in on the session and have a bit of craic. Admission will be €2 per person and tea and coffee will be available.
