GAA News - Juniors win and are on their way to Croke Park! The All-Ireland Junior Semi-Final in Cashel resulted in a 3.14 to 1.13 win for the Junior (now Intermediate) Team over Kildorrery. They will play Fullen Gaels from Manchester in Croke Park on Sunday 10th February. Supporters buses will be going so book your place!

Large items can be collected - please phone Richard on 0879664366 Thomastown Community Centre- The committee of Thomastown Community Centre are in a position to start construction work on the community centre with the first phase due for completion by August 2013. The committee have secured E200,000 from Kilkenny Leadership Partnership and E8,000 from the HSE, in order to meet ther local contribution they are launching their fundraising initiative - buy a block for E20 or a donation. St. Mary’s National School - Parents/Guardian who wish to enrol children in Junior Infants for September, 2013 in St. Mary’s National School may do so during Enrolment Week, Monday, 4th February to Friday, 8th February. Prospective parents may bring their children to the school to be enrolled any morning that week between 10am and noon. The school will also require a Birth Certificate. If your child was not baptised in Thomastown, we will also need a copy of his/her Baptismal Certificate.
Road Investment - Thomastown has received much sought after roads investment within the 2013 Department of the Environment, Community & Local Government Programme for Kilkenny. In a letter to Councillor Michael O’Brien from Ann Phelan TD., she stated that from the Special Roads Improvement Allocation of €705,000, two Thomastown projects at The Quay and Coppenagh Cross will get a combined total of €350,000. Cllr. O’Brien said that he was delighted, at a time when money is so scarce, that this much needed grants have come on stream in this area.
